(Psst! The little box with the arrow in the lower right corner allows you to share this link right to your socials! I’m working on a real share button, but that’s what I have for now. Thank you!!!!)
Welcome back to It’s Journey and to part 2 with Andy Sloey!
In this episode we dive in deeper to the world of improv. I listened to this again before posting it and am so excited to present this to you. If you love improv or have been curious about it listening to some of Andy’s thoughts about the process are like sitting in on a Masters level class on the subject. Even if you don’t perform, it’ll help you gain an appreciation for the artform and may just inspire you to take a class!
Below is the Intro from last week in case you jumped ahead! Listen to Episode 19 if you get a chance!
Intro:
Andy is a gem of a human being. He’s a kind, caring, friend, a talented and insightful teacher and coach, a leader, partner, an amazing father to two awesome human beings (and some furry friends) and he’s also an Amazing actor and improvisor. I learn from him every time I get to see him perform (and I’ve laughed until it hurts) and I’ve been lucky enough to have been in his classes and have him as an improv coach. AND I always love the great conversations he and I have had over the years in between shows in and around The Improv Shop.
I was so grateful when he said yes to joining me to share one of those conversations on It’s the Journey. We had so much fun diving into his personal journey and a host to of other topics that spiraled out of our mutual love of history, acting, improv, and so much more. We had so much fun and hit on so many topics that I decided to break this up into 2 episodes!
Both of them are full of so many great topics. Please enjoy!
If your looking for something fun to do I highly recommend taking some classes at The Improv Shop. The next round starts in June with an amazing line up of teachers who are some of my favorite human beings. Click here to learn more!
Thank you so much. Please like, subscribe and share this with all your friends and as always, Enjoy Your Journey!
Disclaimer:
In our conversation, Andy and I ventured into ponderings about a possible connection between the black plague and syphilis. It was from a memory Andy had from a class. Andy and I are not Doctors or Scientists! Please do not use this information in any Trivia scenarios or Time Travel situations to the middle ages or Renaissance without doing your own research. Thanks you. :)
Bonus:
Here is an improv performance with a team Andy is on called Burnside that include some of my favorite humans on this planet onstage at The Improv Shop! You should totally go check out classes or a show with the plague is over!
