Episode 37: “Live” From Dublin, Part 2
During my second week in Dublin I finally got in synch with their time zone, had more time to wander around the parks and museums, I participated in an amazing tour with Lorcan Collins and his 1916 Rebellion Walking Tour (5 stars without hesitation. Do this when your in Dublin), connected with a member of the Irish Parliament (Chris Andrews TD quietly joined out tour! At the end of the tour, a group photo was taken with us all and he tweeted it! He even listened to one if my episodes! Amazing!!), I also saw my first live theater performance since February 2019 at The Glass Mask Theater (I saw a play called The Day of the Zebra, written and directed by Neil Flynn and performed by the amazing trio of Stephen Jones, Kieran Roche, and Sinèad Keegan. 5 Stars for that too! Amazing performance in a wonderfully cozy theater in the round).
In between all these activities I’ve been making my way through some works by Oscar Wilde since he went to Trinity College. The free time gave my brain some space to make some connections that I share here. Thanks so much for listening!
This is version 1.0 of my goal of being able to do episodes on the road. 7 months from now I’ll be done with my career as a financial planner and will be able to put all the time and attention into this that I want. As I’ve said before, I’ll do this as long as it is fun. Years ago, I always had to have ”certainty in my life“. Or rather, the illusion of it. From a place of pain and fear I sought to control things outside my control and wasted many years worrying about things that never happened or things over which worrying didn’t impact at all. All we can do is focus on what we have control over, our actions. That’s it.
There’s a lot going on in the world right now and the internet will feed it all to you with a firehose if you let. Take care of yourself, guard your peace, turn the media off when you need to. Know that worrying about all the things, won’t fix any of them. All each of us can to is exert energy and effort over thing things we can control. Our thoughts, our response to our emotions, our actions and our inner peace. Take care of yourself. You can’t be the change or live your dream if you are drained.
Enjoy your journey,
Carlo
