Episode 41: Stephen Finlay Archer, Lifelong Learner

“Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.”
Henry Ford

Welcome Back to It's the Journey!

Children usually have many things they love to do, just for fun.

Playing, in other words.

When we grow up we sometimes forget that. Often, we set aside those joys as we take on "adult" activities. Our many roles and responsibilities often take all our time and energy. In AfterLIFE I told my story of how I rediscovered so many aspects of myself that had been put away in a shoe box. Important parts of me were in the dark and forgotten, only to be rediscovered after I went through a crisis in my life.

My guest for the next 2 episodes is Stephen Finlay Archer!

Stephen is a beautiful example of someone who was able to feed those other aspects of himself over the years so that when he retired as an engineer, the writer inside him was able to grow and evolve to the present day!

Stephen is a prolific writer and lifelong learner, and has combined those traits to write many Irish historical fiction novels, including a series called "The Irish Clans" which covers the Irish revolutionary period from 1915 to 1923. If you like fiction, you'll love Stephen's stories...especially if you are interested in Irish culture and history!

In addition to his novels, Stephen also has a weekly blog where he shares interesting historical events with his readers. Stephen has a deep interest and love for his Irish roots and, like me with my Italian history stories, loves to share what he learns! Please check them out on his links below.

I hope you enjoy this conversation and learn as much from Stephen as I did!

In this first episode with Stephen, we dive in deep to how he became an author after a full career as an engineer. Stephen was kind enough to share the story of his journey to becoming an author.
